Day-by-day itinerary
Day1ISTANBUL – GENEVA
We meet at the international departures terminal of Istanbul Airport three hours before departure. After baggage, ticketing and boarding formalities, we depart for Geneva on a scheduled Turkish Airlines flight. Upon arrival, we begin our city tour. Sights include Lake Geneva, Mont Blanc Bridge, the Grand Cathedral, Rousseau Island, the United Nations building and the old town. After the tour, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
Day2GENEVA – NYON – LAUSANNE – MONTREUX – CHILLON CASTLE
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Lausanne. Our first stop along the way is Nyon. During our city tour of this town, also home to UEFA's headquarters, sights include Nyon Castle, UEFA headquarters and Castle Square. After a stop at the ancient Roman columns to admire Lake Geneva, we continue to Lausanne. In this city, the largest episcopal centre of the Middle Ages and host to the Lausanne conferences that laid the foundations of the Turkish Republic, our first stop is Beau-Rivage Palace, where the Peace Treaty was signed in 1923. The Olympic Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral and Palais de Rumine (Rumine Palace) are among the sights we will then view panoramically. After the tour, we depart for Montreux at the time specified by our guide. Well known from Turkish national history, Montreux offers castles, historic buildings and natural beauty, as well as an important place in the music world. The era-defining song Smoke on the Water recounts a casino fire in Montreux, and the city also has a statue of Freddie Mercury, who worked here during the final years of his life. We then head to Chillon Castle, one of Switzerland's symbols, which has stood for approximately 1000 years on a small island in Lake Geneva. After visiting Switzerland's most visited historic monument, transfer to our hotel in Lausanne. Overnight at our hotel.
Day3LAUSANNE – INTERLAKEN – BERN – BASEL
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Interlaken, whose name means between the lakes, situated between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun. In this town, which has a fairy-tale appearance in both summer and winter, we see Stadthausplatz, Höhematte Park and Interlaken Palace before enjoying free time to ascend to the 1322-metre summit from the Harder-Klum funicular station. After our visit offering panoramic views of all of Interlaken, we depart at the time specified by our guide for Bern, the official capital of the Swiss Confederation and the Canton of Bern. We begin our panoramic city tour in the old town. After seeing the Clock Tower, Bern Cathedral and Parliament Building, we see the Albert Einstein House, where the physicist once lived and carried out the work that earned him the Nobel Prize, now operating as a museum dedicated to him. After some free time, transfer to Basel. Overnight at our hotel.
Day4BASEL – RHINE FALLS – ZURICH
After breakfast at the hotel, we take a city tour of Basel, Switzerland's city of culture. Built around the Rhine River, the city impresses with its magnificent buildings. Five different routes can be followed to explore central Basel, each named after a famous figure in the city's history. Following Erasmus, Hans, Holbein, Jacob Burchardt and Paracelcus, you can journey through the city's historical eras. During our city tour, we see the narrow streets lined with historic houses in Greater Basel, the striking red Town Hall and Cathedral Square. After the tour, we depart for Zurich at the time specified by our guide. Along the way, we stop at the Rhine Falls, one of Europe's most spectacular waterfalls. With powerful currents turning the Rhine white amid rocks and lush greenery, the falls offer an impressive spectacle. You can take photographs at your leisure here. We then continue towards Zurich. Upon arrival, we begin our panoramic city tour. Built around Lake Zurich, also known as the Sea of Zurich because of its size, the city offers sights including the Opera House, Lake Zurich, the Clock Tower, Fraumünster and Grossmunster churches, and the Altstadt (Old Town). After our tour, enjoy free time on Bahnhofstrasse, lined with world-famous shops. Transfer to our hotel after the tour. Overnight at our hotel.
Day5ZURICH – KONSTANZ – LIECHTENSTEIN – SCHAAN – VADUZ – CHUR
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart at the time specified by our guide for Konstanz, located on Germany's border with Switzerland in the state of Baden-Württemberg, on the shores of Lake Constance. We begin our visit in the old town of Neiderburg. After exploring its narrow streets, old buildings and shops, which evoke a medieval atmosphere, sights include Rheintorturm (the old city gate), the Imperia statue commemorating its influence on papal elections, the 14th-century Konzilgebude (Council Building) and Münster Cathedral, whose construction began in 1100 and took 700 years to complete. After our tour, we depart for Liechtenstein, the world's sixth-smallest country. Our first stop is Schaann, the country's largest town, with a population of approximately six thousand. After viewing its statues panoramically, we continue to the capital, Vaduz. We enjoy a panoramic view of Vaduz Castle, the official residence of the Prince of Liechtenstein. After free time among the sculptures placed throughout the streets, transfer to our hotel at the time specified by our guide. Overnight at our hotel.
Day6CHUR – BERNINA EXPRESS – TIRANO – MILAN
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the Bernina Express in Chur. We board the Bernina Express, which follows one of the world's finest railway routes, added to UNESCO's protected list in 2008. Our train takes us on a spectacular journey through the Alpine peaks, with specially designed carriages featuring panoramic glass roofs. Throughout this wonderfully atmospheric journey, we pass over 197 bridges, through 55 tunnels and through 32 villages. We ascend from an altitude of 400 metres at our starting point in Chur to 2091 metres at Alp Grum. After a train journey of approximately 5 hours, we arrive in Tirano. Tour conditions and notes
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Our tour requires a minimum of 40 participants. If there are insufficient participants, the agency's latest cancellation notification date is 21 days before departure. You will be notified through your agency if the tour is cancelled due to insufficient participation.
- Where the itinerary specifies only a hotel category without naming the hotel(s) and/or lists alternative hotels for the same destination, your agency will inform you of the hotel(s) 48 hours before departure.
- During trade fairs, congresses, concerts, events, sports tournaments and similar periods, hotels may be located farther away than the stated distances in km or in a different city. In such cases, your agency will notify you 48 hours before departure.
- The panoramic city tours included in the package provide a general introduction to the cities and are conducted entirely from the vehicle with commentary from the guide. They last no more than 2-3 hours and do not include admission to museums or archaeological sites. Fly Express is not responsible if panoramic tours or other tours specified in the itinerary cannot take place because local authorities prohibit visits or entry at the scheduled date and time, because of events or road closures, or because weather conditions make the tour impossible. Where roads are closed or vehicle access is prohibited, some tours may be conducted by public transport or on foot where possible.
- Rooms for 3 guests are subject to hotel availability, and the bed allocated to the 3rd guest is smaller than a standard bed. Rooms for 3 guests consist of 1 large bed + 1 extra bed. Extra beds are folding beds or sofa beds. Participants making reservations for a 3rd guest and/or a child are therefore deemed to accept the bed type and any limited space in the room. Child discounts apply to only one child within the applicable age range sharing a room with 2 adults. Hotels do not guarantee beds for children aged 0-2.
- Hotel breakfasts included in the tour programme reflect the breakfast traditions of the country visited and generally consist of a limited menu known as a continental breakfast, comprising butter, jam, bread, tea or coffee. Groups may be served in a separate room allocated to them.
- As tour flights are booked with group tickets, flight times may change. You can confirm the latest flight details with your agency. Your agency will provide the updated times with the tour information.
- Tour flight times must be confirmed before purchasing domestic flights. If a guest purchases a domestic connecting flight independently from a provider other than the agency, they cannot claim any refund from the agency if the tour is cancelled by the agency or the flight times change. By purchasing the tour, the guest accepts in advance any financial or non-financial losses that may arise from the cancellation or alteration of the tour. Fly Express cannot be held responsible for these circumstances.
- Under airline rules, if the outbound flight on a round-trip ticket is not used, the airline will cancel the return flight.
- Guests joining the tour without flights must make their own way to the tour's starting point and arrive on time. Otherwise, they will be responsible for arranging all their own transfers.
- Fly Express is not responsible if guests are unable to take their flight because they are not at the specified airport at the times advised in accordance with airline rules, fail to complete check-in and boarding procedures on time, or complete these procedures on time but are unable to board the aircraft. Guests who miss their flight are responsible for all expenses required to join the tour, including new round-trip flight tickets and transfers at the destination.
- Tour participants are responsible for their personal belongings, bags, suitcases, passports / identity documents. Fly Express is not responsible for items that are left behind, lost or stolen. If forgotten items are found, there is no obligation to return them to the country and/or their owner, and any costs incurred in returning them are payable by the owner.
- In cases of illness, loss, theft or similar incidents, the guide cannot accompany guests individually, as the guide's priority is to keep the group together and ensure the tour continues.
- When purchasing the tour, you must provide your name as it appears in your passport, your date of birth and your passport number accurately. Flight tickets are issued using this information. Any ticket cancellation or change penalties resulting from incorrect information will be charged to you.
- Some airlines may charge for food, drinks and online check-in services.
- Specific coach seat numbers cannot be guaranteed during the tour.
- The times announced by our guide during tours are departure times, when the vehicle starts moving. Our guide is responsible for treating all guests equally and will depart at the meeting time without waiting. Guests who arrive late must make their own way to the next stop.
- The participant agrees in advance to join the tours specified in the itinerary without disrupting the programme and to pay the tour representative separately during the trip the amount stated in advance in the itinerary to cover expenses such as local guides, museum & archaeological site admissions, city taxes and audio headsets, where applicable. The participant has been fully informed of these arrangements.
- Optional tours are organised by the local agency providing our services and require a minimum of 20 participants. If there are insufficient participants, the tours may not operate, or their prices, content and vehicles may vary according to the number of participants. The guide may also change the days and times of tours according to the opening schedules of museums and archaeological sites and the weather conditions. A different guide may accompany guests on optional tours.
- In our classic packages that do not include optional tours, participation in these tours is voluntary. Guests who do not wish to join optional tours arranged during the trip are deemed to have agreed to wait at a suitable rest stop along the route. These guests will be dropped off at the rest stop before the optional tour begins and picked up from the same location after it ends.
- For itineraries that include optional excursions, payment of museum & archaeological site entrance fees is mandatory.
- Fly Express acts as an intermediary between the airline and the passenger and is subject to the Hague Protocol of 28.09.1955. Scheduled and charter flights may be delayed, and flight times may change before the tour and flight. Fly Express is obliged to communicate these changes as soon as possible. By purchasing the tour, passengers acknowledge and accept that flight details may change.
VISA
- Citizens of the Republic of Türkiye require a visa. Visa applications must be submitted with a passport valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip and the documents specified in the “Documents Required for a Visa” list.
- Green passport holders do not require a visa; a passport valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip is sufficient.
- The visa information provided in the programme applies to citizens of the Republic of Türkiye. Guests holding passports issued by other countries should obtain visa information from the relevant consulates.
- Having a visa does not guarantee entry to the country. Passport control officers have the authority to refuse entry. Fly Express is not responsible in such cases; responsibility rests with the passenger.
- To avoid problems with border officials in the destination country, passports that are torn, worn, water-damaged and/or otherwise damaged must be renewed. If the destination country requires a visa for citizens of the Republic of Türkiye, the relevant visa must be in the new passport. Otherwise, responsibility rests with the passenger.
- When guests under 18 travel alone or with only one parent, border police may request a document showing the consent of both parents upon entry or exit. We therefore advise guests under 18 and their parents to pay particular attention to this requirement.
Cancellation policy
- For cancellations made at least 30 days before departure, the full tour price will be refunded.
- For cancellations made 29-16 days before departure, 50% of the tour price excluding airfare will be refunded. Airfare is non-refundable.
- For cancellations made 15-0 days before departure, the full tour price is forfeited and no refund will be issued.
- If a guest fails to join the tour on the departure date because they miss their flight, coach or other means of transport, the full tour price is forfeited and no refund will be issued.
- If a guest does not continue the tour at its outset or during the trip, whether voluntarily or involuntarily, the full amount paid is forfeited and no refund will be issued.
