After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Rabat, the country's capital. Surrounded by forests of eucalyptus and Portuguese cork oak, Rabat lies on the banks of the Bou Regreg River. The city has served as the country's capital since the exiled king announced his return from here. After visiting Kasbah Oudaya, Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, we set off for Fes. Enjoy free time for the rest of the day. Guests who wish may join the optional Former Capital Fes & Medina Tour (50 Euro). Following a walk around Bab-el Makhzen, the monumental gate of the royal palace, and the surrounding Jewish quarter of Mellah, we explore the Medina. Amid Fes's labyrinthine streets, we see world-famous madrasas, Karaouine University, Nejarine Square, the market selling Moroccan jewellery and copperware, workshops producing some of the world's finest ceramics, and the tannery near the Fes River, where leather is still processed using traditional methods. At the end of the tour, we transfer to our hotel in Fes for free time. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.
