AvailableWe meet at the international departures terminal of Sabiha Gökçen Airport three hours before departure. After baggage, ticketing and boarding formalities, we depart for St. Petersburg on a scheduled Pegasus Airlines flight. Upon arrival in St. Petersburg, regarded as the Venice of the North and Russia’s imperial capital, we begin our city tour. On our panoramic tour, we will see Nevsky Prospect, St. Petersburg’s Champs-Élysées; Palace Square, home to the Winter Palace and the starting point of the first Russian Revolution in 1905; the Hermitage Museum, located here and home to the world’s largest art collection; the Aurora Cruiser, a symbol of the revolution; the Old Port lighthouses; the cathedral of the Peter and Paul Fortress; Kazan and St. Isaac’s cathedrals; Arts Square; and the Bronze Horseman monument to Peter the Great. After the tour, transfer to our hotel in St. Petersburg and free time to relax. Overnight at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Pushkin Town & Peterhof Palace Park & Catherine Palace tour (155 Euro). Located on the Gulf of Finland, the summer palace was built by Italian architect Rastrelli after Peter the Great drew up its plans himself. With a building to rival Versailles in Paris and gardens adorned with 150 monumental fountains and 4 cascades, it is a magnificent complex. Although severely damaged during World War II, it was restored to its full splendour in keeping with its original architecture. After our Peterhof tour, we will have free time for lunch before departing for our Pushkin Town & Catherine Palace tour. This complex of parks, palaces and buildings, known as the Tsar’s Village, was commissioned by Catherine the Great in the 18th century. Catherine Palace is the main building of the town, which covers 600 hectares. Although its Amber Room is particularly fascinating, many tourists are unable to visit it due to heavy crowds, especially in summer. This famous town, where the aristocracy met the imperial family during the Tsarist era, is also home to the school attended by the renowned poet Pushkin. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Hermitage Museum & Cathedrals Tour (110 Euro). We first visit the Hermitage Museum, one of St. Petersburg’s most magnificent museums. As we explore this splendid palace complex in the heart of the city, we have the opportunity to experience the grandeur of the Tsarist era and admire some of the world’s most valuable works of art. Located beside the Neva River and housing approximately 4 million works from the Tsarist era, the Hermitage is one of the largest museums in Russia and the world, and has entered the Guinness Book of Records for having the largest collection of paintings. Walking among works by great masters from Leonardo da Vinci to Rembrandt, we embark on a fascinating journey into history. After our museum visit, we take a short walk to St. Isaac’s Cathedral. This building captivates us with its immense columns and golden dome, and we enjoy panoramic views of the city from here. We then continue to Kazan Cathedral, an impressive building on Nevsky Prospect that inspires admiration with its architecture and spiritual atmosphere. We take a short break in its peaceful interior and respectfully observe local worshippers. Our final stop of the day is the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, whose colourful domes have become a symbol of St. Petersburg. We experience the enchanting atmosphere of its mosaic-adorned interior and have ample opportunities to take photographs. After the tour, transfer to our hotel in St. Petersburg and free time to relax. Guests who wish may join the optional Russian Night with Dinner (130 Euro). At Troyka, one of Russia’s most famous cabaret-style restaurants, we enjoy dinner accompanied by captivating performances by a Russian dance troupe, followed by a transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we check out and transfer to the railway station for our train journey to Moscow. Upon arrival in Moscow, we board our waiting private coach and set off on our Moscow city tour. Sights include Red Square, the historic centre that has witnessed political and social upheaval; the distinctive St. Basil’s Cathedral with its colourful onion-shaped domes; the Kremlin Palace; the Bolshoi Theatre; Tverskaya Street,
Gorky Park, Novodevichy Convent, Swan Lake, Luzhniki Stadium, Sparrow Hills and, finally, Moscow University, all viewed on our panoramic tour. After the tour, transfer to the hotel to check in. Guests who wish may join the optional Moscow River Tour with Radisson Cruise (95 Euro). Beginning towards the evening, this tour offers the pleasure of seeing Moscow’s magnificent historic buildings illuminated from a different perspective. After the tour, transfer to our hotel in Moscow and free time to relax. Overnight at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Moscow Metro & Arbat Street & Nazım Hikmet’s Grave & Kremlin tour (120 Euro). On our metro tour, you can visit stations adorned with paintings, motifs and mosaics that rival art galleries, sample fine Russian and international cuisine in elegant cafés reminiscent of Paris, and watch local people going about their daily lives. Construction of the Moscow Metro began under Stalin in 1931. Although its size is now compared with the metro systems of New York, Paris and London, it is widely regarded as the world’s most beautiful metro in terms of interior architecture and decoration. Arbat Street, which runs through central Moscow, is a pedestrian street visited at least once by almost everyone who comes to the city, offering a pleasant walk from end to end. Here, you can browse colourful shop windows and sample some of the finest Russian and international cuisine. We will then visit the grave of the great poet Nazım Hikmet. After free time for lunch, we begin our Kremlin tour. Built in the 12th century, the Kremlin has become a symbol of both Moscow and Russia. Sights include 9 churches in the palace grounds, the Bell Tower with its 156 bells, the Tsar Bell weighing 201.924 Kg and made using 2 tonnes of silver and 25 kg of gold, the 15-tonne cannon built in 1586 but never used, and cannonballs weighing 1 tonne. After the tour, transfer to our hotel in Moscow and free time to relax.
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport at the time advised by our guide. We fly to Istanbul on a scheduled Pegasus Airlines flight. Our tour and services end upon arrival at Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
