Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day1ISTANBUL – BASEL – FREIBURG – ALSACE

We meet at the international departures terminal of Sabiha Gökçen Airport three hours before departure. After baggage, ticketing and boarding formalities, we fly to Basel on a scheduled Pegasus Airlines flight. Upon arrival, we board our private coach waiting at the airport for a Freiburg city tour. Our sights in Freiburg include the “Bächle”, small roadside channels extending 15.5 km throughout the old town; Freiburger Münster (Cathedral), whose 116-metre tower can be seen from anywhere in the city; Markhalle (Covered Market), a delightful culinary haven offering an astonishing variety of international dishes; the large Münsterplatz square; Rathausplatz with the old and new town halls; Kaiser Joseph Street, lined with souvenir shops, chain stores, cafés and restaurants; and the city's most enjoyable cafés, bars and beer gardens. After exploring Gerberau, enjoy free time for shopping and lunch. Following the tour, transfer to your hotel in Alsace and free time to relax. Overnight stay at our hotel.

  2. Day2ALSACE – OBERNAI – H. KÖNIGSBURG – STRASBOURG – ALSACE

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for a panoramic Obernai tour. We visit Obernai, a town reminiscent of a fairy tale with its flower-adorned wooden houses and stone streets. We then depart for H.Königsburg Castle. Located in the heart of Alsace, the jewel of eastern France, H.Königsburg Castle stands approximately 750 metres above the Alsace plain. Welcoming around 500.000 visitors each year, the castle offers exceptional views and a glimpse into life in medieval castles. We then depart for Strasbourg. During our tour of Strasbourg, a city on the Rhine wine route whose Christmas markets reflect shared French & German cultural and architectural traditions, our sights include Little France, Cathedral Square, Notre Dame Cathedral and Kammerz House. After the tour, transfer to our hotel and free time. Overnight stay at our hotel.

  3. Day3ALSACE – RIQUEWIHR – KAYSERBERG – COLMAR – ALSACE

After breakfast at the hotel, we take a panoramic city tour of Riquewihr. With its charming, immaculate streets, gingerbread-like houses and medieval appearance, Riquewihr is an enchanting fairy-tale town. We then depart for Kayserberg. Meaning “Emperor's Mountain”, Kayserberg is one of the towns in northeastern France that has most beautifully preserved its medieval atmosphere. With its medieval walls, half-timbered houses and medieval churches, Kayserberg is among the most beautiful wine-growing towns in Alsace. We then depart for Colmar. Upon arrival in this fairy-tale town, our sights include the Christmas markets, the Old Customs House, Pfister House and Petite Venise (Little Venice), the city's most famous district, with colourful houses around the Rhine River. In this unique setting surrounded by the Rhine and its canals, you will find a wide range of delicious food to suit your tastes and plenty of opportunities to buy souvenirs. After the tour, transfer to your hotel and free time. Overnight stay at our hotel.

  4. Day4ALSACE – BASEL – ZURICH – LUCERNE – ALSACE

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for our Basel city tour. Built around the Rhine River, the city is striking with its magnificent buildings. There are five different routes for exploring central Basel, all named after famous figures in the city's history. Following Erasmus, Hans, Holbein, Jacob Burchardt and Paracelcus, you can journey through the city's historical eras. During our city tour, we will see the narrow streets lined with historic houses in Greater Basel, the grand red town hall and Cathedral Square. We begin our journey to Zurich by crossing the Swiss border, enjoying views of the Jura Alps. During our tour of Zurich, Switzerland's financial and banking capital and considered the world's most advanced city in terms of quality of life, we see the Great Minster (Grossmünster), Fraumünster Abbey, the Opera House, Banhoffstrasse with its renowned brand storefronts, the Limmat River flowing through the city and the bridges connecting its two sides, and St.Peterskirche, whose clock is the largest in Europe with a diameter of 9 metres. After our Zurich tour, we depart for Lucerne, of which the famous poet Alexander Dumas said, “Switzerland is an oyster, and Lucerne is the pearl within it.” Our sights include the Lion Monument (Löwendenkmal), built in memory of the 800 Swiss soldiers who died protecting King Louis 16 and his family during the French Revolution; the historic Chapel Bridge on the lake where swans glide; the octagonal water tower connected to the bridge; and the captivating views of the city along the lakeshore. After the tour, transfer to your hotel and free time. Overnight stay at our hotel.

  5. Day5ALSACE – BASEL – ISTANBUL

After breakfast at the hotel, we check out of our rooms and transfer to the airport at the time announced by our guide. Following baggage and ticketing formalities, we fly to Istanbul with Pegasus Airlines. Our tour and services end upon arrival at Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

Tour conditions and notes

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Our tour requires a minimum of 40 participants. If there are insufficient participants, the agency's latest cancellation notification date is 21 days before departure. You will be notified through your agency if the tour is cancelled due to insufficient participation.
  • Where the itinerary specifies only a hotel category without naming the hotel(s) and/or lists alternative hotels for the same destination, your agency will inform you of the hotel(s) 48 hours before departure.
  • During trade fairs, congresses, concerts, events, sports tournaments and similar periods, hotels may be located farther away than the stated distances in km or in a different city. In such cases, your agency will notify you 48 hours before departure.
  • The panoramic city tours included in the package provide a general introduction to the cities and are conducted entirely from the vehicle with commentary from the guide. They last no more than 2-3 hours and do not include admission to museums or archaeological sites. Fly Express is not responsible if panoramic tours or other tours specified in the itinerary cannot take place because local authorities prohibit visits or entry at the scheduled date and time, because of events or road closures, or because weather conditions make the tour impossible. Where roads are closed or vehicle access is prohibited, some tours may be conducted by public transport or on foot where possible.
  • Rooms for 3 guests are subject to hotel availability, and the bed allocated to the 3rd guest is smaller than a standard bed. Rooms for 3 guests consist of 1 large bed + 1 extra bed. Extra beds are folding beds or sofa beds. Participants making reservations for a 3rd guest and/or a child are therefore deemed to accept the bed type and any limited space in the room. Child discounts apply to only one child within the applicable age range sharing a room with 2 adults. Hotels do not guarantee beds for children aged 0-2.
  • Hotel breakfasts included in the tour programme reflect the breakfast traditions of the country visited and generally consist of a limited menu known as a continental breakfast, comprising butter, jam, bread, tea or coffee. Groups may be served in a separate room allocated to them.
  • As tour flights are booked with group tickets, flight times may change. You can confirm the latest flight details with your agency. Your agency will provide the updated times with the tour information.
  • Tour flight times must be confirmed before purchasing domestic flights. If a guest purchases a domestic connecting flight independently from a provider other than the agency, they cannot claim any refund from the agency if the tour is cancelled by the agency or the flight times change. By purchasing the tour, the guest accepts in advance any financial or non-financial losses that may arise from the cancellation or alteration of the tour. Fly Express cannot be held responsible for these circumstances.
  • Under airline rules, if the outbound flight on a round-trip ticket is not used, the airline will cancel the return flight.
  • Guests joining the tour without flights must make their own way to the tour's starting point and arrive on time. Otherwise, they will be responsible for arranging all their own transfers.
  • Fly Express is not responsible if guests are unable to take their flight because they are not at the specified airport at the times advised in accordance with airline rules, fail to complete check-in and boarding procedures on time, or complete these procedures on time but are unable to board the aircraft. Guests who miss their flight are responsible for all expenses required to join the tour, including new round-trip flight tickets and transfers at the destination.
  • Tour participants are responsible for their personal belongings, bags, suitcases, passports / identity documents. Fly Express is not responsible for items that are left behind, lost or stolen. If forgotten items are found, there is no obligation to return them to the country and/or their owner, and any costs incurred in returning them are payable by the owner.
  • In cases of illness, loss, theft or similar incidents, the guide cannot accompany guests individually, as the guide's priority is to keep the group together and ensure the tour continues.
  • When purchasing the tour, you must provide your name as it appears in your passport, your date of birth and your passport number accurately. Flight tickets are issued using this information. Any ticket cancellation or change penalties resulting from incorrect information will be charged to you.
  • Some airlines may charge for food, drinks and online check-in services.
  • Specific coach seat numbers cannot be guaranteed during the tour.
  • The times announced by our guide during tours are departure times, when the vehicle starts moving. Our guide is responsible for treating all guests equally and will depart at the meeting time without waiting. Guests who arrive late must make their own way to the next stop.
  • The participant agrees in advance to join the tours specified in the itinerary without disrupting the programme and to pay the tour representative separately during the trip the amount stated in advance in the itinerary to cover expenses such as local guides, museum & archaeological site admissions, city taxes and audio headsets, where applicable. The participant has been fully informed of these arrangements.
  • Optional tours are organised by the local agency providing our services and require a minimum of 20 participants. If there are insufficient participants, the tours may not operate, or their prices, content and vehicles may vary according to the number of participants. The guide may also change the days and times of tours according to the opening schedules of museums and archaeological sites and the weather conditions. A different guide may accompany guests on optional tours.
  • In our classic packages that do not include optional tours, participation in these tours is voluntary. Guests who do not wish to join optional tours arranged during the trip are deemed to have agreed to wait at a suitable rest stop along the route. These guests will be dropped off at the rest stop before the optional tour begins and picked up from the same location after it ends.
  • For itineraries that include optional excursions, payment of museum & archaeological site entrance fees is mandatory.
  • Fly Express acts as an intermediary between the airline and the passenger and is subject to the Hague Protocol of 28.09.1955. Scheduled and charter flights may be delayed, and flight times may change before the tour and flight. Fly Express is obliged to communicate these changes as soon as possible. By purchasing the tour, passengers acknowledge and accept that flight details may change.

VISA

  • Citizens of the Republic of Türkiye require a visa. Visa applications must be submitted with a passport valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip and the documents specified in the “Documents Required for a Visa” list.
  • Green passport holders do not require a visa; a passport valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip is sufficient.
  • The visa information provided in the programme applies to citizens of the Republic of Türkiye. Guests holding passports issued by other countries should obtain visa information from the relevant consulates.
  • Having a visa does not guarantee entry to the country. Passport control officers have the authority to refuse entry. Fly Express is not responsible in such cases; responsibility rests with the passenger.
  • To avoid problems with border officials in the destination country, passports that are torn, worn, water-damaged and/or otherwise damaged must be renewed. If the destination country requires a visa for citizens of the Republic of Türkiye, the relevant visa must be in the new passport. Otherwise, responsibility rests with the passenger.
  • When guests under 18 travel alone or with only one parent, border police may request a document showing the consent of both parents upon entry or exit. We therefore advise guests under 18 and their parents to pay particular attention to this requirement.
Cancellation policy
  • For cancellations made at least 30 days before departure, the full tour price will be refunded.
  • For cancellations made 29-16 days before departure, 50% of the tour price excluding airfare will be refunded. Airfare is non-refundable.
  • For cancellations made 15-0 days before departure, the full tour price is forfeited and no refund will be issued.
  • If a guest fails to join the tour on the departure date because they miss their flight, coach or other means of transport, the full tour price is forfeited and no refund will be issued.
  • If a guest does not continue the tour at its outset or during the trip, whether voluntarily or involuntarily, the full amount paid is forfeited and no refund will be issued.
