AvailableWe meet at the international departures terminal of Istanbul Airport three hours before the flight. (1 day before the flight date.) We complete baggage, ticket and boarding procedures.
We depart for Seoul on a scheduled Turkish Airlines flight. Overnight on board. Upon arrival in Seoul, we board our private coach waiting at the airport. We then transfer to our hotel in Seoul and enjoy free time to relax. Overnight at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for our full-day Seoul city tour. Sights on our tour include Gyeongbokgung Palace, the National Folk Museum of Korea, Insadong Antique Street, Namsangol Hanok Village, Myeongdong Street, and N Seoul Tower. Our first stop, Gyeongbokgung Palace, was built in 1395 and is often called the Northern Palace because it lies furthest north compared with the neighboring palaces of Changdeokgung (East Palace) and Gyeonghuigung (West Palace). Next is the National Folk Museum of Korea. The museum offers visitors insights into the lives, art, and cultural development of the South Korean people across different periods. We then transfer to Myeongdong, home to shops, cosmetics stores, and numerous restaurants. In Korea’s most famous shopping and fashion district, you can shop as you please and sample local flavors. Overnight at our hotel.
Note: Gyeonbokgung Palace is closed on Tuesdays. Changdeokgung Palace will be visited instead of Gyeonbokgung Palace.
After breakfast at the hotel, we travel by high-speed train to Busan, Korea’s second-largest city. Upon arrival, we visit the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Korea, built in memory of soldiers from 16 countries who lost their lives in the Korean War between 1950-1953. Home to the graves of 2.319 soldiers from 11 countries, it is the world’s only United Nations cemetery. In particular, the Turkish Memorial Cemetery, with the graves of 462 Turkish soldiers, is one of the greatest symbols of friendship between Türkiye and Korea. We continue our tour with a visit to Yonggungsa Temple. Combining distinctive architecture with sea views, the temple was rebuilt in 1970 using traditional colors. There is also a three-story pagoda adorned with four lion statues, symbolizing joy, anger, sadness, and happiness. We then transfer to Mipo Station for our Haeundae Blueline Beach Train tour. Running along a 4,8-kilometer route from Mipo Station to Cheongsapo Station, these driver-operated trains feature sea-facing seats and magnificent views of the Haeundae coastline, offering a unique sightseeing experience. The Haeundae Blueline Beach Train travels at an average speed of 15 km per hour, with trains in vibrant colors such as red, yellow, green, and blue. During the journey, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Haeundae coastline and take unforgettable photographs. At the end of the tour, we transfer to our hotel in Busan and enjoy free time to relax. Overnight at our hotel.
Note: Travel from Seoul to Busan and back will be by high-speed train. On the day of departure for Busan, we recommend that guests bring clothing for 2 days. Large luggage will be left at the hotel in Seoul.
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Gamcheon Culture Village, a tourist district famous for its narrow streets, colourful houses and murals, often called the 'Santorini of Busan' or 'Lego Village'. Offering an unforgettable experience with its colourful atmosphere and artistic character, Gamcheon was built by refugees during the Korean War in the 1950s. In 2009, as part of the 'Dreaming of Machu Picchu in Busan' art project, artists and students painted the village's walls and houses in vibrant colours and decorated them with various artworks and sculptures. This project transformed Gamcheon into a popular tourist destination. We continue to Gyeongju, renowned for its rich historical heritage, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and known as a 'Museum Without Walls'. In this city, which served as the capital of the Silla Kingdom for approximately a thousand years, from 57 BC to 935 AD, our first stop is Bulguksa Temple. Built in the 8th century during the Silla Kingdom, the temple is considered one of Korea's most valuable cultural heritage sites. In 1995, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List together with nearby Seokguram Grotto. Noted for structures reflecting the architectural elegance and artistic detail of the Silla period, Bulguksa Temple houses seven significant works designated as National Treasures of Korea. We then depart to visit Cheomseongdae Observatory. This cylindrical tower stands 17 metres high. Its body consists of 365 cut granite stones, symbolising the days of the year. A square window in the middle divides the structure into two sections of 12 stones each, representing the 12 months. We then continue to Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond. During the Silla period, the palace served as the crown prince's residence and a venue for important state ceremonies. Wolji Pond, also known as the 'Moon-Reflecting Lake', is an artificial pond surrounded by stone walls. Today, Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond offer visitors enchanting views, particularly when illuminated at night. After a photo stop here, transfer to our hotel in Busan and free time to relax. Overnight at our hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we return to Seoul by high-speed train. Upon arrival, we take a short walk along the walls of Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon, built by King Jeongjo in honour of Prince Sado, before transferring to Gangnam. Meaning “South of the Han River”, Gangnam is Seoul’s third-largest district. The area rose to fame following PSY’s song Gangnam Style. Cheongdam Fashion Street, Gangnam Station, Bonguensa Temple and Starfield Library are among the sights on our panoramic tour. After a break for shopping, dining and photos, we transfer to our hotel in Seoul for free time to relax. Overnight at our hotel.
Early morning check-out. We then transfer to Seoul Airport for our flight to Istanbul. After baggage, passport, and ticket procedures, we depart for Istanbul with Turkish Airlines. Our tour and services end upon arrival at Istanbul Airport.
